Membership

Committing to following Jesus alongside us.

What does it mean to be a member?

Members are people who are invested in Franklin Chapel and want to take another step in supporting its vision and mission.

Members call Franklin Chapel their church home and desire to be integrated into furthering God’s will in our families and in our communities. Membership is more than attending services—it’s participating in the life of the church.

We invite members to join us as we follow the ways of Jesus through worship, service, generosity, and community.

How to become a member

  • Membership Orientations take place monthly, typically before the worship service unless noted otherwise. These gatherings cover the heart, mission, and life of Franklin Chapel.

    Orientation helps you:

    • Learn who we are and what we believe

    • Discover opportunities to serve and connect

    • Discern whether membership is right for you

  • One of the requirements for membership is being a follower of Jesus. When someone becomes a member, we make a profession of faith together as a congregation—expressing unity and shared commitment as a church family.

    The Membership Profession of Faith:

“Jesus is Lord. I believe in Jesus’ life, death, and resurrection. I am committed to abiding in Jesus and following His way. I believe in the core essentials of historic Christianity and I will support Franklin Chapel with my presence, my witness, my service, and my giving.”

  • If you have already been baptized, simply let us know. We accept baptisms from all Christian denominations as long as they were performed in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

If you have not yet been baptized, one of our Pastors will meet with you to talk through next steps and help schedule a baptism.

  • To stay connected and informed, we ask members to attend a Membership Orientation once every three years. These monthly gatherings help ensure members remain integrated into the life of Franklin Chapel.

If a member does not attend an orientation within three years, they will roll off the membership list. This helps us keep our records current and ensures our members are up to date with what’s happening at Franklin Chapel.

If you roll off the list, you are always welcome to rejoin by attending a Membership Orientation.

  • Voting Members have the right to vote at the Annual Members Meeting held each January. At this meeting, members review and vote on nominations, the church budget, and other matters brought before the congregation.

To be a Voting Member, you must:

    • Be at least 18 years old

    • Have attended a Membership Orientation within the last 12 months

  • Children are a central part of life at Franklin Chapel, and we deeply value their spiritual growth.

Children may become non-voting members once they are able to:

    • Make a profession of faith

    • Attend a Membership Orientation

    • Recognize their baptism

We love celebrating each step as children grow in faith and become members of our church family.

  • Absolutely not. You are welcome at Franklin Chapel whether or not you choose to become a member.

You can worship with us, eat with us, and serve with us. Membership is an invitation—not a requirement—and you are just as welcome at our table as the longest-standing member of the congregation.
